Rio Olympics
2016

In 2016 Brazil received the biggest event in the planet, the Olympics. I was lucky enough to be part of the small team of digital experts that were tasked to create digital content for the Olympics and Paralympics Rio 2016. We were based in Rio for 3 months and worked together with the media team in a frenetic and fun enviroment.
One of the briefs we received was: “How can we show people what is to be a Paralympian and move people to the arenas to see them in action.”
We decided to create an online platform that allows users to discover the story of some of the athletes and dive in a 360-degree video experience of their training.
As product designer of the project I brought the idea from scratch to final designed screens for multiple devices sizes ready to develop. I was also actively involved in the direction of the shootings to make sure our partners captured the images we needed.
We built it from zero to 1 in one month, from idea to delivering the final product. It had thousands of daily visitors.
It was an honour and unique experience to personally meet some of the Paralympic athletes from the Brazilian commitee, hear their stories first-hand and work alongside so many talented people.
A big shout out to all team who put this together, all the late nights, the long trips and of course to the athletes, who made the time to let us record them and for sharing their stories, a life lesson.
